  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme flowers (5 g)
  • 1 cup of water (350 ml)

Preparation

  • Add the thyme flowers to a cup of boiling water.
  • Cover the drink and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Mode of consumption

  • Drink a cup of herbal tea before going to bed.

2. Nettle and sage herbal tea

This combination of plants is appropriate for reducing hot flashes caused by abrupt hormonal changes. The substances contained in it regulate hormonal activity and  reduce the tendency to suffer from increases in body temperature while sleeping.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of dried nettle (5 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of sage (5 g)
  • 2 cups of water (500 ml)

Preparation

  • Put the leaves in the water and boil it.
  • Turn off the heat once it reaches the boiling point and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Once it has cooled, filter it.

Mode of consumption

  • Drink one cup of this herbal tea in the morning and one in the late afternoon.

Note: Avoid this remedy if you are hypertensive or suffer from kidney failure.

3. Alfalfa and lemon seed tea

Alfalfa

Alfalfa seeds contain active ingredients that help reduce the effects of low estrogen levels. For this reason, they  can be used as a remedy for hot flashes.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of alfalfa seeds (30 g)
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (5 ml)

Preparation

  • Add alfalfa seeds to a cup of water and boil.
  • Once it has boiled, turn off the heat and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • Filter and add the lemon juice.

Mode of consumption

  • Have a cup of tea mid-afternoon or before dinner.

4. Damiana tea

Damiana is a medicinal plant that has become famous for its energetic properties. Beyond this, it  is believed to be an effective remedy against some of the main symptoms of menopause.

Damiana herbal tea reduces nocturnal hot flashes, and for this it helps to improve the quality of sleep.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of dry damiana (15 g)
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)

Preparation

  • Add a tablespoon of damiana to a cup of boiling water.
  • Cover the herbal tea, let it cool for 10 minutes and then strain it.

Mode of consumption

  • Drink a cup of herbal tea every evening, until the heat stops.

5. Chamomile, yarrow and bitter orange herbal tea

Chamomile

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of water (500 ml)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of chamomile tea (7 g)
  • 1 teaspoon of yarrow (5 g)
  • 1 teaspoon of bitter orange (5 g)

Preparation

  • Boil a cup of water.
  • Once it comes to a boil, turn off the heat and add the plants.
  • Cover the herbal tea, let it cool for 10 minutes and then strain it.

Mode of consumption

  • Drink a cup of herbal tea in the middle of the afternoon and repeat before going to sleep.
